Curriculum
Little Sprouts’ rich, comprehensive, and cutting-edge program combines an exceptional curriculum, socially and emotionally-rich daily enhancements, and unique extracurricular activities. Our programming is designed to give your child the first step towards building a lifelong love of learning.
The High Scope Difference

Social-emotional literacy is as important as the ABC’s and 123’s and provides lasting, positive effects on a child’s development. Teachers use this program to develop the power of expression in building relationships-- the foundation of all children’s well being. To learn more visit www.highscope.org.
Cutting-Edge Literacy Approach

Little Sprouts is the proud recipient of the U.S. Department of Education’s Early Reading First grant since 2003, receiving over $5 million in funds to create “Preschool Centers of Excellence”. This project has given Little Sprouts the resources and knowledge needed to ensure all programming is based on scientific reading research. As a result of these practices, our preschoolers scored #1 on a national assessment and our schools outperform the competition in environments and the amount of professional development given to teachers.
Comprehensive Curriculum

This family of library-dwelling lions teaches young children essential early literacy skills indicative of future academic success through this year-long curriculum developed by WGBH. Exceptional children’s literature combines with a multi-media approach to teaching to scaffold early language and literacy learning.

Published by Sopris West, Little Sprouts uses this researched curriculum to structure daily curriculum and provide instruction in literacy, pre-writing, math, science, art, social studies, and health to preschool students.

Little Sprouts also uses WGBH’s early education Science and Engineering curriculum to provide widespread, cross-content science instruction.
