| Little Sprouts has been a leader
in high quality Early Childhood Education since 1982. Our
program began by combining engaging environments and an active learning
approach with the daily schedule and range of services of exceptional
early education and care. Leadership training and development,
national and state awards and recognition, expanded services, and
frequent opportunities for family involvement are more recent signs
of Little Sprouts' leadership. |

At age 16, Susan Leger Ferraro enjoyed
volunteering at Rangerland. Even at that young of an age, Susan
understood the importance of literacy with children. As seen here,
Susan is reading a story with Tara Livingston, age 3. |

Parents who
enroll their children with Little Sprouts have the comfort of
knowing that their children are in a safe, stimulating and loving
environment. Little Sprouts' commitment to supporting the whole
child manifests itself in a balance of activities and environments
to enhance academic, intellectual, social/emotional and physical
development. Families become part of a support system of caring
teachers and directors who form a partnership in working to enhance
the development of each child. Little Sprouts offers families
flexibility in hours and schedules, an open door policy, and overall
reliability of service.
Involving families
in the center is a major goal of Little Sprouts. We encourage
families to work as an aide with the children, or to support literacy
in our classrooms by reading to their child's classroom.
It is vital that children hear different voices, stories, and
languages to excel in literacy.

Children at Little Sprouts reap the benefits of a safe, happy
and healthy environment. Children are given the opportunity to
be actively involved in the learning process and to experience
activities and materials that foster the development of the whole
child. Each child is respected as a unique individual and encouraged
to value themselves. While attending Little Sprouts your child
will encounter a nurturing, educated and loving staff that will
form secure relationships with you and your child. |

Little Sprouts classrooms offer a comprehensive
curriculum to students which include learning across all content
areas; literacy, math, science, art, dramatic play, building,
social studies and technology. Language and literacy instruction
is built into every day through playful experimentation and discovery.
Two literacy curriculums, We Can! from Sopris West and WGBH's
Between the Lions are used to provide scaffolded, systematic literacy
instruction to preschoolers. Curriculum is aligned based on scientifically
based reading-research and is aligned to state and national standards,
including the National Association for the Education of Young
Children (NAEYC) Goals for Preschool and the Head Start Outcomes.

Program Description by FUNdamentals of Music Founder Aaron Nigel Smith:
"Our goal is to inspire children to express themselves through music and movement – here and throughout the world," says Smith. He continues on to explain that “our programs focus on giving children memorable and enriching experiences with music and movement beyond the scope of the standard music or dance class, while also developing their innate talents and abilities. We offer classes ranging in age from newborn all the way through adulthood. Not only do our clients enjoy the immediate benefit of music and movement enrichment, but they gain valuable skills that will serve them well throughout their entire lives.”

Classrooms support students' early learning and exploration through
engaging, age-appropriate materials and displays and encourage pride
in work by displaying projects. |
|

Classrooms are divided into learning centers to provide children
an opportunity for engaging learning across content areas. |

Exposure to new, classic, and enriching picture books as well as
opportunities to retell favorite stories give children a love of
books before they even start reading. |
|

All classrooms have dramatic play area which changes with the theme
to give children exposure to new concepts and vocabulary through
pretend play. |

Pre-writing skills start with finger-paint and are enhanced by opportunities
to experiment with writing in preschool writing centers.
|
|
|

Children bring play and learning outside daily, all year long.
(weather permitting)
|
|
 |
