Health & Wellness

We take proactive steps to minimize illness, promote hygiene, and support overall
well-being every day.

Teachers and Baby

Little ones get sick—it’s a part of life. But we understand it can be distressing. At Little Sprouts, our Health & Wellness Policy aims to keep your little ones and our community safe and healthy. We’ve crafted strict and detailed policies, ensuring that they meet or exceed state early education regulations and standards.

We wash our hands often—and well.

Hand washing—and helping kids learn to do so properly—is a top priority at Little Sprouts. Proper handwashing is modeled for and taught to children with the following steps:

  1. Use running water that drains, not stopped-up water.
  2. Avoid common containers of water to reduce the spread of germs
  3. Use liquid soap, not bar soap
  4. Use friction (rub hands together for at least 20 seconds)
  5. Clean under fingernails

We follow strict hygiene and cleaning procedures.

Our teachers and staff receive timely training and ongoing professional development regarding how to help prevent the spread of infection. We follow strict hygiene and cleaning procedures, including disinfecting high-touch surfaces like door handles, and rotating toys so we can sanitize them even more frequently.

We also refrain from using bleach or harsh chemicals in our classrooms. Little ones are notorious for putting toys in their mouths, but you can rest assured knowing that we clean and sanitize with Force of Nature, an EPA-registered disinfectant that’s safe for children, effective against germs, and eco-friendly.

We partner with families to understand our sick policy.

At Little Sprouts, we believe that keeping everyone healthy and reducing the spread of infection requires a partnership between our enrolled families, our teachers, and our staff.

We follow a detailed sickness policy, which we make sure every family understands and agrees to when they enroll. Sometimes little ones will need to be sent home early or refrain from attending school for a few days—each situation is different. But the goal is the same: to keep everyone healthy.
