Little Sprouts Boston BUMC is located right in the heart of the Boston University Medical Campus on Albany Street, near Mass Ave. This school is modern and bright, with spacious classrooms that provide ample space for learning and making connections. A dedicated parking lot behind the school makes pick-up and drop-off time convenient for commuting families. Additionally, a private playground inspires new play and sensory discoveries for growing minds in the fresh air.

Like all of our Little Sprouts schools, Boston University Medical Campus has been designed with your child in mind. From the natural wood of the floors, to the colors on the walls and the furniture in the classrooms, it’s all intentionally selected to create a soothing and relaxing atmosphere where your child can be safe, happy and learning every day.

Outdoor Playgrounds

Our outdoor spaces are designed for safety and sized for growth. Each playground is tailored to a specific age group - ensuring safe play that supports physical development and social interaction at every stage.

Music & Movement

Included weekly in all classrooms, this program blends music therapy with educational play to support developmental growth through song, instruments, sign language, and movement.

Nature Stations

Nature stations bring the outdoors in, offering hands-on exploration of natural materials and seasonal changes. These spaces spark wonder, observation, and a deep connection to the environment.

Seed & Sew

As S.E.E.D (Schools Excelling in Emotional Development) certified schools, we are dedicated to nurturing emotional intelligence, connection, and resilience in early childhood. Executive Director

Shemeka Maxwell

29+ Years of experience working with children

Shemeka brings a wealth of knowledge and passion to Little Sprouts BUMC. Holding an associate’s degree in Early Education from UCB and a bachelor’s degree in General Studies with a minor in Social Work from Lesley University, Shemeka has worked at every level in the field and has served as a director since 2015. Joining the team in February 2025, Shemeka is dedicated to quality childcare and family engagement. As a proud parent of a teenage son, Acacio, and a former toddler/preschool teacher, Shemeka has a deep personal connection to early childhood education. This commitment is further enriched by the joy of caring for two cats, Stanley and Missy Darla, and two dogs, Teddy and Gizmo. A proud Bostonian, Shemeka loves working in a community close to their heart.

Claisha Hall

13+ Years of experience in ECE

With years of experience teaching, working at centers, after-schools, and coaching sports teams, Claisha excels in creating positive and enriching learning environments. Her commitment to understanding each child's unique needs has helped them thrive academically and personally. Transitioning into a coordinator role, Claisha developed and implemented curriculum strategies, ensured best practices, and provided ongoing support to staff, families, and children. This role sharpened her leadership skills and deepened her ability to inspire colleagues. As Assistant Director, Claisha balances administrative responsibilities with a focus on quality education, contributing to the center's success and improving staff morale. She is excited to join the team and looks forward to this new journey.

Regional Operations Manager

Sandra Delaney

21+ Years in Early Education

Sandra has built her career in the early education field, starting as an infant teacher in 2004 and advancing to center director. Most recently, she managed operations for an international backup care platform, collaborating with thousands of families and child care providers. Sandra holds a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and Psychology from Salem State University, which has equipped her to support her team effectively. A mother of a 2-year-old boy and a 10-month-old girl, Sandra enjoys spending time with her family, discovering new restaurants, and cozying up with a good book in her free time.
